Verona is one of our all time favourite cities in Italy, specially for all you old romantics ! We have been a number of times and it’s one of those places you never get bored of.
So much to see in the historic centre, the Arena is amazing in Piazza Bra and all the side pedestrian streets leading from it are full of fab shops, lovely bars and great Gelaterias. Everything is in walking distance including the old castle Castelvecchio and unique bridges which when you cross the river you can get the Funicular (cable car) to the hill top where a great bar Re Teodorico https://www.reteodorico.com/ sits with amazing views of the city and of course don’t forget Juliet’s house and the famous balcony…wherefore art thou my babber ??
We have stayed in some great accommodation booked through Booking.com, all reasonably priced including Hotel Milano and Massimago Wine Suites, both of which have parking and are just around the corner from the Arena. Also we have stayed in an apartment which was only about a 10 minute walk into the centre but no parking so park in the main car park in the centre as trying to find a parking space can prove to be very stressful 🙂

There are many bars and restaurants but 2 we highly recommend and go back to time after time are a lovely wine bar Osteria Del Bugiardo https://www.yelp.com/biz/osteria-del-bugiardo-verona for a glass of vino or 2 or a bottle and if you’re lucky one of the staff will burst into an operatic aria (Verona Arena is famous for hosting the top opera singers in the world), also for dinner is our favourite restaurant Osteria Casa Vino https://www.osteriacasavino.com/ where quite simply we have eaten some of the best food with a lovely family run atmosphere and a very good price to boot !
